Rising House Prices set to hit Trafford

Trafford is being touted as the place for property investors and is set to see massive surges in house prices, according to the experts. With the recent arrivals of big chain supermarkets and restaurants, such as Waitrose and Booths, as well as the extension of the Metrolink, it would appear that Trafford is the place to be. Reports show a strong correlation between the types of businesses that have been set up locally recently and a subsequent upturn in property prices.

Between April 2013 and April 2014, Trafford saw the largest annual growth in house prices in Greater Manchester, out-performing Stockport, Salford and Tameside.

So why is Trafford so popular? We have excellent travel links to the airport and Manchester City Centre, a trip to Old Trafford or the Ethiad is easily accessible, there are many fine dining restaurants but one of the major factors is the amount of excellent schools in the area. Last year, 3 schools in Trafford managed for all GCSE students to obtain 5 GCSE's with grades between A* and C. These schools were Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, Altrincham Grammar School for Girls and Stretford Grammar. Sale and Urmston Grammar obtained 98%, St Ambrose 96% and Loreto Grammar 94%. With the vast range of top-achieving schools and successful businesses, it is no wonder the demand for houses in Trafford is rising, bringing with it a subsequent rise in the house of prices in the local area.

The average house price in the Trafford area is now estimated to be around £240,000 which is £100,000 more compared to neighbouring Salford.
