McHale & Co. Solicitors Blog

Matthew Bell, litigation Partner recently received instructions in relation to a dispute on social media. The matter arose when an individual posted incorrect information on a popular social network site that in effect was defamatory. We are therefore in the process of having this information removed and preventing further defamatory posts from being made with the possibility of injunctive relief being sought.

People often believe that comments/tweets made on social networks are not of consequence, but given the sheer number of people on these sites, an incorrect post could be seen by thousands, and even could go viral. So think before you post as one off the cuff remark could actually pose a serious problem for you.

Matthew deals with all manners of litigation work and is always happy to discuss any issue you may have on a no obligation basis.
