McHale & Co. Solicitors Blog

Our Personal Injury team was instructed by a client in 2010 in connection with a road traffic accident in which he suffered soft tissue injuries to the neck, foot and body. Unfortunately, during the course of investigations the client passed away.

The case was complicated further as the family lived in Scotland and had no assets in England, and the law relating to accidents and deceased claimants differs in the two countries.

We eventually managed to obtain an English Grant of Probate whilst liaising with solicitors in Scotland. This enabled us to progress matters on behalf of his estate.

As a result, we obtained a settlement of £14,000 for his partner and their children.
