Delayed diagnosis of renal cancer claim settled for £28,500

Nimish Patel, our Head of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence recently settled a claim where there was a significant delay in diagnosing the tumour. Renal cancers typically grow at 0.35cm per year. The Claimant’s lesion was 5cm before it was identified.

An earlier diagnosis would likely have allowed for less invasive treatment, such as keyhole surgery, avoiding the need for emergency open surgery. Unfortunately, the delay led to a more extensive procedure, a longer recovery time, and a greater negative impact on the Claimant’s overall health.

The client was anxious to settle his claim and return to Poland. We were happy that we were able to assist him with this goal.
