R. v Housing Association

We were instructed by a Claimant who was injured when a cupboard door in kitchen fell on her leg and caused a deep gash.


The property was the responsibility of a housing association.


Our client had reported it to management company and a joiner came out to repair it in December 2019 but the door became loose soon there after. She reported it again by phone on 2 occasions in January and March 2020 just before COVID ( although defendants denied this) and in July 2020 the accident occurred. The management company denied negligence but settled on the day of the trial with our client not needing to go into court
