Errors in medical care can have a devastating effect on patients. We recognise that the cost to patients of negligent medical treatment is not just physical and financial but also psychological. We also recognise that patients find it difficult to come forward about a claim arising from medical treatment.

Your immediate concern may be to ensure that you receive the right treatment, and that any injury you have suffered as a result of medical accident is being treated.  You may need a second opinion or ask your doctor to refer you to another hospital or clinic.

You may not be able to work because of the accident, and we recommend that you get advice about claiming benefits and how to deal with any debts that have built up.  Your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau is a good place to start.  We can also direct you to the appropriate Community Legal Service.
